PESHAWAR, Dec 15: Federal Minister for Political Affairs and provincial president of PML Amir Muqam has urged the public utility organisations to improve their services and redress people’s grievances on priority basis.

He was addressing an open Kuchehri at his camp office in Wapda House here on Friday.

Chief Executive Pesco Brig Sakhi Marjan and other high officials were present on the occasion. He said loadshedding and over-billing by Pesco were troubling the common man.

He directed the officials concerned to evolve a proper mechanism to cut down on the duration of loadshedding and refrain from the practice of over-billing.

During the meeting, Mr Muqam was given a briefing on the status of ongoing schemes in the province.

He directed the officials concerned to further streamline the pace of work by ensuring smooth supply of material and construction machinery.

Meanwhile, a delegation of notables from Shabqadar, led by former federal minister Nisar Mohammed Khan, called on Mr Muqam and discussed with him a longstanding issue regarding the restoration of electricity to 25 villages of the so-called defective area.

The minister directed the Pesco chief executive to resolve the issue to the satisfaction of the residents.

Later chairing a meeting of the SNGPL, the minister underscored the need for accelerating the pace of work on gas supply projects in the province.—APP
