KARACHI, Dec 14: The MCB Bank's GDR offering has been awarded ‘Best Pakistan Deal in Awards for Achievement-2006’ by Finance Asia, Asia's leading financial publishing company, says a press release.

The MCB's $150 million GDR issue in October attracted over $700 million of demand from investors worldwide.

The overwhelming response from fund management community to the issue signified investors’ confidence in the bank's management and highlighted its impressive performance on a global scale.

This marked the first GDR offering for a Pakistani issuer in over ten years and made the MCB first Pakistani company to be listed on London Stock Exchange.
