MULTAN, Dec 13: Though commitment and dedication are two keys to success, but in Pakistan, generally one could hardly note anyone so serious for that.

Bashir Kardar, chief groundsman of the Multan Cricket Stadium set a new example for his countrymen during the fourth One-day International between Pakistan and the West Indies here on Wednesday, by showing remarkable devotion with his work.

Before the start of the match, Bashir was informed his elder brother has died and he had to go for his burial. But Bashir decided to stay at the ground which he has been preparing for the last fortnight for the high-profile ODI match.

Bashir advised his family to delay his brother’s burial till the end of the match as he was unable to leave the ground. Though Pakistan’s chief groundsman Haji Mohammad Bashir also advised Bashir to hand over his job to him, but he refused.

Bashir, exhibiting great dedication, remained in the field till the last ball of the match.
