ATTOCK, Dec 12: Two persons were killed and five injured in different areas of the district Monday evening. Police said five persons were going to Haji Shah Village on a tonga when a speeding coach hit them near China Chowk on Attock-Haji Shah road in the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station. As a result, Abdul Waheed, Abdul Rauf, Bukhar Gull, Abdul Wahid and Fazal Hadi sustained serious injuries. They were taken to the district headquarters hospital where Abdul Rauf died.

Likewise, Mehboob, a cycle mechanic, was on his way home after closing his shop when he was hit and killed by a wagon near railway crossing on Rawalpindi-Fatehjang road in the jurisdiction of Fatehjang Police Station.

Separate cases were registered by the respective police stations against the accused drivers.

Meanwhile, a man was injured by three persons in Fatehjang.

Police said Qaisar Abbas, a resident of Fatehjang, was going home when three persons shot and injured him.

SIX ARRESTED: Saddar Police have arrested three persons, Rawas Khan, Khan Zaib and Mujarbat Khan, all residents of Nowshera district, for allegedly stealing wood from the forest near Garyala Village in Kalachita mountainous area. The police registered a case against the accused on the report of the forest department.

Meanwhile, three persons — Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Fiaz and Nisar — were arrested for allegedly possessing a 32-bore revolver, a 30-bore pistol, 102 bullets and 115 gram heroin during routine checking in the jurisdictions of Hazro and Attock Khurd police stations.
