MULTAN, Dec 6: Scores of lawyers on Wednesday thrashed the Khanewal deputy district officer (revenue) and also ransacked his office over a row for the possession of land for the lawyers’ colony.

Reports said the lawyers, led by district bar association president Javed Hashmi, attacked the office of DDO(R) Zia Ahmad Shami and started beating him. They also thrashed his staff when they came to the rescue of their boss.

The enraged lawyers also damaged the furniture and electronic equipment of the offices of the DDO and district monitoring officer Zahid Ikram.
