Youth hurls stones at train

SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 5: An unidentified youth pelted stones at an express train near Narang Mandi on Narowal section on Tuesday.

The Allama Iqbal Express was coming from Lahore. As soon as it reached near Narang Mandi railway station, the youth hurled stones at its engine. The driver stopped it at the station. Later, the youth smashed windowpanes of some of its compartments and escaped. No serious damage to the engine was reported. Narang Mandi police are investigating.

KILLED: Two people were killed in an accident near Bhekhi on Faisalabad Road, 16 kilometres from here, on Tuesday.

Sardar and Arshad were riding a horse driven cart (rehra) to their village Nawankot. A speeding bus hit the cart, injuring them critically. They were rushed to the DHQ hospital where they died soon after arrival. The horse also died. — Correspondent
