Four held in murder case

SUKKUR, Dec 4: Chak police arrested four people on late Sunday night on charges of involvement in the karo-kari murder of four women, three of them real sisters, in Abdoo village near here a week ago.

Reports reaching here said that three real sisters, Naseem, Shahzadi, Nasiba and Safia, wife of Bashir Ahmed Mahar, were killed and Manthar Mahar and Gul Bahar Mahar were injured after a gang of armed people barged into Mohammad Ayub Mahar’s house and started firing indiscriminately on Tuesday night.

People of the area said that the brutal murders were the result of an old karo-kari dispute.

Police registered an FIR against Shafi Mohammad Mahar, Bashir Ahmed Mahar, Mohammad Hussain Mahar, Azeem Mahar, Jawed Mahar, Nazir Mahar, Noor Hassan Mahar and Ghulam Qadir Mahar on the complaint of Gulbahar Mahar and arrested four of the accused Jawed, Noor, Ghulam Qadir and Nazir Ahmed.
