Prices of 13 items show rising trend

ISLAMABAD, Dec 2: The price of 13 items witnessed an average growth of three per cent during the week ending on November 30 putting more pressure on the low income people.

Official figures released by Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) here on Saturday showed that price of tomatoes increased by 14.92 per cent to Rs33.04 per kg as against Rs28.75; fresh milk by 2.09 per cent to Rs26.92 per litre from Rs26.37.

The price of garlic increased by 1.70 per cent to Rs65.08 per kg from Rs63.99 per kg, red chilies by 1.40 per cent to Rs95.67 per kg as against Rs94.35 per kg, veg ghee loose by 1.32 per cent to Rs66.57 per kg as against Rs65.70, milk powder Nido 0.88 per cent to Rs118.30 per 400 gm from Rs117.27; LPG cylinder 0.75 per cent to Rs504.59 per kg as against Rs500.82, bananas 0.61 per cent to Rs27.90 per dozen as against Rs27.74, mustard oil 0.58 per cent to Rs73.16 per kg as against Rs72.74.

The price of curd increased by 0.36 per cent to Rs31.03 per kg as against Rs30.92, wheat 0.25 per cent to Rs12.06 per kg as against Rs12.03, tea packet 0.20 per cent to Rs69.57 per kg as against Rs69.43 and firewood by 0.15 per cent to Rs187.61 per 40 kg as against Rs187.32.—Our Reporter
