KARACHI, Nov 26: Thousands of activists of parties in the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) staged a rally here on Sunday in protest against the passage of the Protection of Women’s Rights bill which they termed un-Islamic.

The protesters chanted slogans against President Musharraf and the US. “We'll intensify our protests to mobilise the people to stand against the induction of laws against Islamic teachings,” Hafiz Hussain Ahmed told the rally.

He also said that MMA’s decision to resign from the National Assembly was final.
