Tariq captures golf title

ISLAMABAD, Nov 26: Tariq Mehmood of Pakistan held off challenge from two Sri Lankans to win the individual title of 46th National Amateur golf championship at the Islamabad Golf Club on Sunday.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz was the chief guest on the last day of the four-day championship.

Tariq Mehmood, belonging to Pakistan Navy, scored three-over 291 over 72 holes to capture his maiden individual title. Mithun Perera of Sri Lanka was runner-up with 294.—APP
