Attack on Gillani condemned

ISLAMABAD, Nov 24: Pakistan on Friday condemned the Nov 23 attack on Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Gillani and called for ensuring his safety.

The government condemns the attack in Jammu on the Chairman of Tehreek-i-Hurriyat Kashmir Syed Ali Shah Gillani by elements reportedly belonging to an extremist outfit,” Foreign Office spokesperson said in a statement issued here.

Pointing out that this was the second attack on him in a year, the spokesperson said: “The Government of Pakistan hopes that the safety and security of Syed Ali Shah Gillani and all other Kashmiri leaders will be ensured.”—Q.A.
