ISLAMABAD, Nov 23: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Durrani has said that no Kashmir solution would be acceptable to Pakistan against the will and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

“The present government has taken concrete steps for resolution of the dispute and the world community fully backs our efforts,” said the minister while talking to executive director of the Kashmir-American Council Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai who called on him in his office on Thursday.

Terming Musharraf-Manmohan meeting in Havana a significant development, Senator Durrani said that during the meeting, President Musharraf not only stressed the need for resolution of the long-standing dispute but also floated solid proposals in this regard to ensure durable peace in South Asia.

He said Pakistan always wanted to resolve all issues with India in a peaceful way and expressed the hope the Indian government would respond in the same manner. Dr Fai said Kashmir was a political issue and it should be resolved politically.—APP
