UC official accused of rape

MULTAN, Nov 23: A union council naib nazim, along with his companions, allegedly raped a woman after abducting her from Jalalpur Pirwala in Multan district on Wednesday.

A resident of 86 M, Jalalpur Pirwala, told the police that she was alone at her house when UC naib nazim Nusrat Abbas Khan and his accomplices took her away at gunpoint. She said among his companions was Riaz Husain and they raped her in a deserted house.

The city police sent the woman for medical examination and initial report confirmed scars on the body.

Nabi Bakhsh, her father-in-law, told this correspondent that the police were not cooperating with them and they agreed to help carry out the medical examination only on the pressure of the people.

Meanwhile, the naib nazim claims that he is being implicated in the case at the behest of his political rivals.
