JHANG, Nov 22: Four members of a family were killed in a road accident here on Tuesday near Tangu crossing, some 10km from Chiniot.

Reports said Muhammad Sadiq of Chak No 138 was on his way to Chiniot along with his wife Shehnaz and sons Babar Ali, 4, and Shan, 2, by a motorcycle. Near Tangu crossing, a Lahore-bound bus (JG-4212) struck against their bike, killing them on the spot.

Police are investigating.

RE-ARRESTED: The Qadirpur SHO claimed on Wednesday to have re-arrested an under-trial who had escaped from police custody about five days back.

Reports said Ghulam Abbas Bhatti was booked for taking away mobile phones worth Rs85,000 in Akrianwala. Sub-inspector Mushtaq produced him in the court of a local civil judge to obtain physical remand. As they were coming out of the court, the accused managed his escape.

The DPO suspended the SI from service and ordered registration of a case against him. He deputed Qadirpur SHO Zulfiqar Husain Shah who along with a police party raided several localities of Jhang and Shorkot tehsils and succeeded in arresting the accused from Rashidpur village on Tuesday.
