SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 17: Sharaqpur police on Friday claimed to have arrested eight people of Esan village in the limits of Qurashainwala union council on the charge of harbouring a dozen proclaimed offenders.

The Sharaqpur police got information that dozens of POs involved in heinous crimes had taken a refuge in the village.

A police party led by SHO Riaz Shah raided there and besieged the hideout of criminals. Seeing the police, the criminals opened fire which was returned.

Later, all the POs managed to escape from the scene with the help of their hosts. The police arrested the eight people, including Irfan, Mansha, Gulzar and Muzaffar, for providing protection to POS. — Correspondent
