MITHI, Nov 14: Accountant General of Sindh, Zulfiqar Ali Qadri, has said computerisation of accounts system in five districts of the province would help a lot in solving problems of government employees and pensioners.
Speaking at a workshop on civil accounts here on Tuesday, Mr Qadri said accounts offices in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Larkana were online where as offices in Mithi, Ghotki, Khairpur and Dadu would get the same facility in the near future to remove drawbacks of old account system.
Earlier, the accountant-general inspected the local account office and expressed satisfaction over its smooth functioning. Speaking at this occasion, DCO Asadullah Dharejo contended that an institute having an honest and hard working officer as its head with a dedicated team can achieve good results and it can be expected that the devolution plan, as well as the new computerized account system introduced by A.G. Sindh, would definitely prove helpful for district governments and their account offices.
Addressing the workshop, Arbab Anwar, district nazim of Tharparkar, said devolution system would be fruitless unless offices and elected representatives would work with utmost spirit of service of masses.
