ISLAMABAD, Oct 18: The Afghan embassy in Islamabad has strongly condemned what it termed “killing of over 400 civilians” by the continued American attacks on Afghanistan for the past 12 days.

A statement issued by the Afghan embassy on Thursday said, “American brutal attacks on Afghanistan have been continuing. Each day, innocent civilians fall victim to intentional bombings. Under the cover of fighting terrorism, America is committing state terrorism. So far, more than 400 people have been martyred by American air raids,” it said.

In the view of many, White House administration was bent on punishing the whole Afghan nation because they had established an Islamic system in the country. The natural right of the Afghans to choose a government based on their aspiration “is taken from them by a bully superpower,” the statement said.

Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Islamabad, Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef, was quoted by the statement as saying that there were heavy civilian casualties by American air raids. He was speaking from a place between Helmand and Herat, the statement added. He said American AC-130 planes were targeting civilian houses intentionally. He added there was shortage of food and medicine.
