KARACHI, Nov 14: The Pakistan People’s Party has accused the regime of alleged pre-poll rigging in Tharparkar where thousands of PPP supporters have deliberately been omitted from the electoral lists.
It alleged that pre-poll rigging was ominous in Mirpurkhas Division. This
In a statement, PPP’s divisional President MNA Aftab Hussain Jillani and MNA Nawab Mohammad Yousuf Talpur said that enumerators of the Election Commission have done miracles of pre-poll rigging in Thar desert where instead of increasing the total number of registered voters, their strength has been decreased by 68,000 votes. They pointed out that the region belongs to Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim.
The number of enlisted voters in old lists in Tharparkar district was 455,105. However, interestingly enough in the recently prepared voter' lists the total number of voters has been shown as 387,937, a decline of 68,000. This fact certainly lays bare the conspiracy of disenfranchisement of thousands of voters.
While votes have been lessened in all over Tharparkar district, the enumerators have enlisted 4000 more votes in Mithi town and same votes have been doubly enlisted in different rural villages.
