LAHORE, Nov 13: Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad on Monday confirmed that he has not been invited to the ex-players’ workshop despite similar claims from the PCB chairman on Sunday.

“After all, the PCB is organizing the event and they have every right to invite anyone they wish. It’s perfectly fine with me. But to say that a typing error was the reason behind my name getting overlooked clearly means that the person who typed the press release was either incompetent or the board officials are trying to be smart as usual,” he said.

Miandad admitted that he met Dr Nasim Ashraf a few weeks ago when the latter visited Karachi for first time since replacing Shaharyar M. Khan as chairman.

“We discussed a few things about cricket but nothing was said about the coming workshop at the time. I have not heard anything from the PCB chairman since. I don’t hold any grudge if somebody doesn’t like my coming down to Lahore on Friday,” he added.

Sources say that another reason behind PCB’s decision to sideline Miandad could be the presence of Bob Woolmer, who along with PCB’s Director Cricket Operations Salim Altaf will give presentations at the workshop.
