Ali Rizvi, Atiq save SSGC

KARACHI, Nov 8: An 81-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Ali Hussain Rizvi and Atiq-uz-Zaman helped Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) score 225 on first day of their Patrons Trophy grade-II match against PWD at PCB Academy ground on Wednesday.PWD won the toss and asked SSGC to bat first. They were struggling at 76 for four when the two came for their rescue.

Rizvi hit five boundaries in his 187-minute innings of 72 runs. Atiq blasted seven fours in his 95 minutes stay at the crease and scored 57.

Slow left-arm spinner Azam Hussain did most of the damage and finished with four wickets for 69 runs in 27.4 overs.

In reply, PWD were five for no loss in three overs.
