KARACHI, Nov 5: A young man was shot dead reportedly over a marriage proposal in Korangi on Sunday. Police said that Mujahid, 18, was shot by suspect Siraj who had come to visit his uncle’s house in Zia Colony.

Police said that Mujahid was a tenant of Siraj’s uncle and was interested in marrying Siraj’s sister.

The victim was taken Jinnah Hospital but was pronounced dead. The suspect is absconding.

ACCIDENT: A policeman died in a road accident on Shaheed-i- Millat Road on Sunday.

Police said Muhammad Aslam, 30, was on his motorcycle when a speeding taxi knocked him down. The driver escaped, leaving the taxi behind. The police constable was taken to the Jinnah Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The deceased was posted at the Korangi Industrial Area police station.

ARRESTED: Police arrested two proclaimed offenders wanted in more than 100 cases in Punjab and the interior of Sindh in the Garden area on Sunday.

According to a spokesman for the Anti- Dacoity and Robbery Cell, Bangal Mirani and Sudheer Merani were wanted in Multan, Rahimyar Khan, Sadiqabad, Sukkur, Ghotki, Panu Aaqil, Khairpur, Larkana, Shakirpur and Jacobabad in over 100 cases of murder, attempt to murder, and kidnapping for ransom.

Police claimed to have seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunitions from them.

They carried a head money of Rs2 million, announced by the Sindh government.
