Six drown in canal

SANGHAR, Nov 4: Six people, including women and children, drowned in the Ranto canal near Wadhki Pathan on Saturday. According to reports, the villagers had fixed a steel wire across the canal to cross it by boat.

Eight people boarded a boat to cross the canal.

When they reached in the middle, the steel wire snapped and the boat became free.

The boat lost balance and capsized. Only two people survived by swimming to the bank.

The deceased include wife of Urs Shar, his sister, wife of Naobat Shar and three children.
