PESHAWAR, Nov 4: Political Affairs Minister Amir Muqam has described the Muslim League as the real custodian of provincial rights and said the PML has started mega-projects worth billions of rupees in all parts of the Frontier province without any discrimination.

Addressing a public meeting in his hometown of Shangla, he said that Muslim League had been working for realisation of provincial rights since it came to power and owing to its struggle the pace of socio-economic activities had gained momentum.

Referring to what he called the interest-based politics of nationalist elements, he said these elements had done nothing practical for their voters and instead they had branded welfare projects, such as the Kalabagh dam, controversial for their political survival.

He said the Kalabagh dam project was of national importance as it would bring about diversified economic development in all federating units.

Mr Muqam announced that clean drinking water would be provided to every household in the Shangla district.—APP
