QUETTA, Nov 2: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousuf has directed police and other law-enforcement agencies to take steps to make security measures more effective to curb terrorist activities.

He was presiding over an emergency meeting at the central police office soon after visiting the site of Thursday’s blast. He condemned the terrorist act and directed that vigilance system should be beefed up at all public and sensitive places and installation of secret cameras at crowded places be undertaken without delay. ‘‘Vigilance should be maintained about suspected vehicles and motorcycles,’’ he said and ordered to launch a campaign against such vehicles.

The chief minister said that all measures be taken for ensuring the protection of life and property of the people.

The Inspector General of Police Chaudhary Mohammad Yaqub informed the chief minister about investigation into terrorist acts so far made. He also briefed him regarding the motive behind Thursday’s blast and steps taken by law-enforcers against these elements.
