LAHORE, Oct 18: Punjab Governor Lt-Gen Muhammad Safdar (retired) said on Thursday the government was taking all possible measures to remove problems faced by businessmen in international trade on account of Pakistan’s being a frontline state (in the war against terrorism).

Speaking to a business delegation led by LCCI president Khalid J Chaudhry here, he said the Sept 11 events, and the retaliatory strikes by the US on Afghanistan had affected the country’s business and economy. He said protests rallies and strikes called by extremist elements could harm the country.

The governor said the government had decided to lend support to the international community in the best interest of the country.
