Girl killed as pistol goes off

SWABI, Oct 29: A 13-year-old girl died in a hospital after she was injured when her relative’s pistol accidentally went off in the Shewa village here on Sunday.

Police said the girl, daughter of Zarghun Shah, was injured when Mohammad Bilal’s pistol went off.

The girl was taken to a nearby hospital where she died. Before succumbing to her injuries, the girl told police the pistol had gone off by chance.

The father of the girl also told police that it was an accident.

Meanwhile, a passerby was killed in a clash between two rival groups in the Kalu Khan area.

Police said Asad Ali and his uncle, Quarban Ali, were going home when Tariq Aziz and his son, Rameez, opened fire on them. The two returned the fire. Passerby Hussian Akhtar was killed in the exchange of fire and Asad Ali and Rameez were injured. Police have registered an FIR against Asad Ali and Rameez.
