MARDAN, Oct 27: Awami National Party chief Asfandyar Wali Khan has expressed his concern over the availability of explosive material in the NWFP and said it may cause a great havoc any day for the people.

Talking to Dawn on the occasion of funeral of Babo Akram Khan here on Friday, he deplored the death of innocent Pukhtuns in bomb explosions in the province.

It may be added that Babo Akram Khan was a former provincial food minister in the ANP and PMLN alliance government, who died at the CMH Rawalpindi on the second day of Eidul Fitr. He was suffering from liver cirrhosis.”

Asfandyar warned if the miscreants involved in the explosins were not checked severly, its result would be extremely fatal at least for the Pakhtoonkhwa.

He condemend that Pukhtoon were the victims in this country and were subjected to injustices and cruelties because their resources and rights were usurped by the Punjabis he balmed.

Asfandyar also warned that Afghanistan was the hub of terrorist activities and if they were not checked such terrorism would not only create problem for Pakistan but it could engulf the whole region.

STUDENT KIDNAPPED: A man of Mutti Banda area has complained that four people abducted his sister three days before Eidul Fitr from Mardan when she was going home from the University of Peshawar.

Wasil Khan alleged at a press conference at the press club that his sister, a BEd student, had been kidnapped by Niqab Shah, Zartalab, Aslam Khan and Pervez on Oct 19.

He said the kidnappers had also beaten him severely.

He said the family of Niqab Shah had sought the hand of his sister but the proposal had been turned down.

He alleged that the local MPA, nazim and police were not taking interest in the case.

He appealed to the chief minister, governor and inspector-general of police of the province to recover his sister and punish the kidnappers.

He said some people had told him that his sister had been taken to the Bajaur Agency.
