SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Several thousand villagers held angry demonstration in occupied Kashmir on Sunday to protest the alleged killing in custody of a 19-year-old farmer. Slogans including, “We want freedom” and “Punish the killers” were chanted by more than 2,000 villagers as they marched through Pakharpora village.
Maqbool Dar was arrested by the army from his Pakharpora home on Friday and his body was returned late on Saturday.
“We had just broken our fast on Friday when a group of soldiers dashed into a room and took him away,” his father told reporters.—AFP
