Top N-official in US

WASHINGTON, Oct 22: Lt-Gen Khalid Kidwai, head of Pakistan’s Strategic and Plan Division, is in Washington and is scheduled to speak at various think tanks on perceptions and realities about the country’s nuclear programme.

Gen Kidwai, who looks after the security of Pakistan’s strategic weapons, will also meet US officials during his stay here.

The visit could play a key role in removing misperceptions about the country’s nuclear programme, particularly in the US media and the academia where Pakistan is often depicted as an irresponsible nuclear state.
