Published October 23, 2006

MIRPUR, Oct 22: Arrange-ments have been finalised to celebrate Eidul Fitr with religious zeal and fervour and renewed pledge to strengthen national solidarity.

Eid shopping was at its climax with only two days left for the festival.

The faithful will throng the mosques, eidgahs and imambargahs to offer Eid prayers at various places of the liberated territory.

The biggest Eid congregation in the AJK capital will be held at the Markazi Eidgah.

In Mirpur, the main congregation will be at Markazi Eidgah in sector F/1.

Eid prayers will also be offered in other Azad Jammu and Kashmir districts, including Neelam Valley, Rawalakot, Bagh, Palandri, Kotli and Bhimbher.

Special prayers will be offered for early rehabilitation of earthquake survivors in the NWFP and Azad Kashmir to the pre-quake regime — for which hectic drive was already underway by the government agencies.

Faithfulls will also pray for progress and prosperity of Pakistan and the Azad Jammu and Kashmir, liberation of all occupied Muslim territories, including Indian-held Kashmir and Palestine and well-being of the Muslim Ummah.

Ulema and khateebs will deliver special sermons to highlight the day’s significance.

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government had already taken steps for monitoring the law and order in all shopping centres and bazaars.
