IOC president on inspection tour

BEIJING, Oct 21: International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge arrived here on Saturday to commence a five-day inspection tour of the host city for 2008 Olympic Games.

He will attend the 5th World Forum on Sport, Education & Culture where he is expected to speak about importance of educating young people through sports and on challenges to increase participation of younger generation in sports.

He will also attend the opening plenary session of 7th IOC Coordination Commission meeting Oct 24-26 and tour some of the key Beijing venues, to see first hand development of Beijing Olympic Games project.—Agencies
