PESHAWAR: Woman arrested

PESHAWAR, Oct 21: National Highways and Motorway Police arrested a woman on charges of drugs smuggling on Saturday.

Three kilogrammes of heroin was recovered from her possession. The woman, Amna, was arrested near the Chamkani area from a Lahore-bound bus when the bus conductor informed the police that she was carrying contraband items. The heroin was recovered from her luggage.

Later, the woman was handed over to the police.

Meanwhile, Motorway police recovered a stolen car when two of their officers signalled a driver to stop the vehicle for using cellphone while driving.

The car-jackers left the car after some time near Chughalpura but they managed to escape.—Correspondent
