Robbers kill villager

BAHAWALPUR, Oct 18: A villager died while his wife and son sustained serious injuries during a robbery attempt at his residence near Chak 12-BC on Wednesday.

Police said four robbers opened fire when inmates put up resistance. Ahmad Bashir died on the spot while his wife and son sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, carpenter Hafizur Rehman strangled his wife Kalsoom, mother of three from her first husband, near the small industrial estate here.

Police who have arrested Hafiz said it seemed to be an hounor killing case.
