Shahid puts AKD XI into semis

KARACHI, Oct 17: A blazing knock of 78 by promising batsman Shahid Yousuf guided AKD XI into the semi-finals of the 21st Karachi Gymkhana-AKD Ramazan cricket tournament at the KG Ground on Tuesday.

AKD XI defeated Mohammad Hussain CC by five wickets by making 125 for five in the 19th over with Shahid blasting 11 boundaries and one six in his match-winning 52-ball innings.

After opting to bat first, MHCC managed a paltry score of 123 against spin trio of Arif Mahmood (3-29), Fariduddin (2-16) and Mohammad Farrukh (2-19).

Pak PWD face M. Tex Sports in the third quarter-final on Wednesday.
