Azhar slams ton in Ramazan cricket

KARACHI, Oct 13: Azhar Shafiq slammed an attractive hundred as Customs CC coasted to 64-run victory over last year's runners-up Cantt Sports to book a place in the quarter-final of the 21st Karachi Gymkhana AKD Twenty20 Ramzan Cricket Tournament at KG Ground on Friday.

Right-handed Azhar blasted 14 boundaries and three sixes in a superb 104 off 54 deliveries. Hasnain Abbas cracked a quickfire 33. Off-break bowler Kamran Sabir produced a economical spell of four wickets for 24 for Cantt Sports.

In reply Cantt Sports could muster just 139 for 8 in their quotaof 20 overs. Wajihuddin made 41 with four boundaries and a six while Muhammad Imran hit a rapid-fire 33 off 16-balls with six boundaries.
