PESHAWAR, Oct 18: The People Awareness Movement, a forum of doctors, lawyers, journalists, professors and social workers, in its meeting here on Thursday called on US President George W. Bush to forthwith call off airstrikes on the innocent Afghan people.

The meeting presided over by Fazl Elahi advocate was attended by a large number of activists hailing from a cross section of society.

According to a statement issued on Thursday, the meeting called upon all countries of the world not to impose a government on Afghanistan, as it would create more problems for the Pakhtoons.
