KARACHI: Man commits suicide

KARACHI, Oct 13: A young man shot himself dead after wounding his fiancé in PECHS on Friday morning.

Police said injured Noreen was rushed to the Jinnah Hospital where she underwent surgery and a bullet was taken out from her eyebrow, hospital sources said that she had suffered a skin deep superficial wound.

According to police sources, Ahmed Abbasi, 28, and Noreen were scheduled to get married on December 25 this year. All formalities even the booking of the marriage halls was completed by the respective families.

Some time late Thursday night, Ahmed called up Noreen saying that he wants to marry her in the morning, however, their conversation ended up in altercation.

Police quoting the family sources said that around 7:30 in the morning, Ahmed came to their house in PECHS Block 2 and fired some blank shots air before entering the house.

According to the family, Ahmed fired shots inside the house injuring his fiancé. Police believed that presuming that he has killed his fiancé; Ahmed shot himself in the head inside the house of his would be in-laws.

His body was also shifted to the Jinnah Hospital.
