Police recover girl after months

MULTAN, Oct 12: The Khanewal police on the direction of the Supreme Court recovered on Thursday a 15-year-old girl three months after her abduction from a film studio in Lahore.

Amir alias Bhola, Kashif alias Mara and Nazim Husain had allegedly abducted Shumaila Bibi, a resident of Chak 159/10R, Jahanian tehsil (Khanewal) three months ago. The Jahanian police had registered a case and arrested the suspects but failed to recover the girl.

Her father Naseer Ahmad sent many applications to several courts and the Supreme Court summoned Khanewal DCO Shahid Haneef for Oct 11 with a report. The DCO had formed several teams of police and sent them to Lahore for the recovery of girl.

SHO Khalid Joya-led team conducted many raids in Lahore and finally succeed in recovering the girl from a film studio.

Acting District Police Officer (Khanewal) Rana Mahmoodul Hassan sent the girl to Darul Amaan in Multan after her refusal to go back home.
