PESHAWAR, Oct 11: The house of an alleged murderer was put on fire in the Terai Bala village of Mathra locality on Wednesday afternoon by relatives of the deceased.

The conflict between two families started on Tuesday evening during a quarrel between Imtiaz and his neighbour Ibrar following a fight among children, residents of the area said.

One Inamullah, employee of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL), tried to resolve the dispute between the two but Imtiaz pulled out his pistol and opened fire as a result of which the former was injured. He was later taken to the Lady Reading Hospital.

Shaukat Ullah, nephew of Inamullah, told the Mathra police that he was sitting with his cousins at his paternal uncle’s house when they heard about the firing incident in his village.

He said that he, his brother Shakirullah and cousins Samiullah and Farmanullah were on their way home to learn as to how his uncle had got injured. But they were intercepted by Imtiaz, his brother Ajmal alias Ajmalay, sons of Taus Khan and Issa Khan, who opened fire on them. During the firing, they picked up Famanullah and dragged him to their home. Later, Imtiaz killed Farmanullah at his home.

Police and Farmaullah’s family recovered his body late on Tuesday night. However, Imtiaz and his family managed to escape during the night.

On Wednesday afternoon, family members of Farmanullah after funeral prayers went to the house of Imtiaz and set it on fire. The house was partially gutted.

The police have registered a case against Imtiaz, Ajmal and Issa Khan and are on their lookout.
