Snooker squad for Asiad named

KARACHI, Oct 10: Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association on Tuesday announced combinations of team and schedule for the 15th Asian Games to be held in Doha, Qatar from Dec 1.

Pakistan will be featuring in snooker singles, doubles and team contests, billiards singles and doubles, 8-ball and 9-ball competitions of the games.

England-based Pakistani Shaukat Ali and Khurram Agha will appear in singles event, Mohammad Yousuf and Naveen Perwani in doubles. All four of them will also feature in the team contest.

Imran Shahzad and Farhan Mirza will contest in billiards singles while Vishan Gir and Sohail Shahzad will feature in billiards doubles.

Rambail Gul and Salman Shaikh race to 9 wrack 8-ball pool and Imtiaz Tipu and Syed Mesam Zaidi will contest in race to 11 racks in 9-ball pool.

According to the schedule of the events, best of seven frames snooker doubles will be played on Dec 4 and 5, best of five frames billiards singles with 100 points limit will be held on Dec 5, snooker team contest will be held on Dec 5 and 6, snooker singles on Dec 6 and 7, billiards singles on Dec 5 and doubles on Dec 6 and 7. The 8-ball pool will be contested on Dec 8 and 9 and 9-ball pool on Dec 10 and 11.—APP
