ISLAMABAD, Oct 10: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Affairs Saleem Saifullah has stressed the need for a review of the inter-provincial royalty system.

Talking to journalists at a seminar arranged by the Imam Khomeini Trust here on Tuesday, he said that if the NWFP got its outstanding royalty of hydel power, it would solve many of its problems.

He advised other provinces to adopt a more constructive approach and adopt the course of political dialogue.

He said that all the provinces were getting their share of royalty but Balochistan was getting lesser royalty than Sindh due to calculation formula.

He said Balochistan had expressed its point of view and a review was being done on the issue. He said adjustment of energy royalties for the NWFP was a historically conducive decision of the federal government.

He lauded the process of dialogue initiated by the NWFP government to attain its due rights and urged the provinces to adopt a similar attitude.—Online
