KARACHI, Oct 10: A man was shot dead while resisting bandits in New Karachi Industrial Area on Tuesday.

Police said that employee of a garment factory Syed Aziz Zaidi, 37, had withdrawn Rs50,000 from Habib Bank UP Mor branch, when he returned to his factory armed men intercepted him at the gate.

As Mr Zaidi tried to put up resistance the armed men shot him and fled taking away the cash.

The victim was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital but died on his way to the hospital.

KILLED: A man was killed by unknown persons in Landhi area on Tuesday.

Police said that unknown persons barged into the house of Asad Ali, 45 in Sherabad area and stabbed him repeatedly before fleeing.

Police said that victim was an employee in an engineering company in Landhi Industrial area.

According to police, some personal enmity may be a possible motive behind the killing as the intruders did not took away any valuables from the house.

ARRESTED: Site police on Tuesday arrested a drug dealer and recovered over 1kg of charas from his possession at Banaras Chowk.

TPO Site Javed Akbar said that Haji Israr among the few big drug dealer of the city was spotted by the policeman who was doing a surveillance duty at the Banaras Chowk along with several other policemen in plain cloths.

The suspect tried to run away, but he was chased by the police official who nabbed Haji Israr and seized 1.25kg of charas from his possession.

A pistol was also recovered from his possession, but on verification it turned out to be a licensed one, the TPO added.

Meanwhile, the Kharadar police arrested two suspects and recovered 11 cellphones and two pistols from their possession late Monday night.

SHO Kharadar police station said that suspects identified as Shiraz and Shabbir were arrested near the Denso Hall. During interrogation the suspects confessed committing armed hold-ups in Preedy, Kharadar and Baghdadi police limits, the SHO added.
