PESHAWAR, Oct 8: A three-day photo exhibition opened at Nishtar Hall here on Sunday to mark the first anniversary of the devastating Oct 8 earthquake.

The earthquake was jointly arranged by the NWFP Information Department and Cultural Department, according to a press release.

NWFP Secretary Information Ahsanullah Khan, who inaugurated the exhibition, said that the NWFP government was making all out efforts to assist and rehabilitate earthquake survivors, which had brought positive results.

He said that the displaced people were returning to their native places and life was returning to normal by virtue of their courage and strong will, adding that the rehabilitation process was under way and NWFP Chief Minister Akram Durrani was himself supervising it.—APP
