PESHAWAR, Oct 6: The Awami National Party has expressed concern over registration of FIRs against three union council members by Wapda officials and has demanded immediate withdrawal of the cases.

In a press statement issued here on Friday, ANP’s provincial secretary-general Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that every citizen had the right to protest and call for solution of problems and it was ruthless to register cases in such circumstances.

He said that Wapda routinely resorted to excessive load-shedding, over-billing and imposed excessive penalties on consumers.
