PESHAWAR, Oct 5: Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Squash Academy coach Mohibullah said on Thursday that juniors had potential to be a part of Pakistan squad for forthcoming British Open Junior championship next year.

Mohib said Bilal Zakir, Suleman Zeb, Faraz Mohammad and Kashif Bakhsh in under-13 and Sadam Hussain and Waqas Gul in under-15 categories had bright chances of being selected for British Open Junior championship.

The players are training at academy and had shown promise in a short span of time, he said, adding that there should be more such academies for the talented youngsters.

However, he expressed hope that British Open under-13 winner Nasir Iqbal and Rizwan Khan had better chances at British Open but added they needed need a breakthrough at senior level.

Mohib, the elder brother of former world champion Jansher Khan, said before appearing in the trials for British Open, the academy players would also participate in Hashim Khan Junior championship and NWFP Chief Minister International tournament to be held soon after Ramazan.—APP
