Woman drug trafficker arrested

SHEIKHUPURA, Oct 4: City B-division police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested a woman drug trafficker while her two accomplices managed to escape near Ramgarh railway crossing.

Police received information that three drug traffickers riding a car were on their way to Manawala, Nankana Sahib from Peshawar. The police besieged the area. Near the railway crossing, the police arrested Razia Bibi while her two unidentified accomplices managed to escape.

The police recovered 3kg hash and 1kg opium from seats of the car (LWR-6821). During initial investigation, she told the police that the contraband was brought from Peshawar to be handed over to one Manzoor at Manawala.

Further investigation is under way.

ABDCUTED: A woman was allegedly abducted in factory area police precincts on Wednesday.

Reports said `J’ was alone at home when Dilawar entered the house by scaling the boundary wall and abducted her at gunpoint. Police are investigating.

ACCIDENT: Traffic police constable Safdar Ali was run over and killed by a speeding car near Jandiala Sher, some 16km from here on Wednesday.

Police have arrested car driver Shafique.
