SUKKUR, Oct 4: President of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Sindh, MNA Asadullah Bhutto has criticised President General Pervaiz Musharraf for tarnishing the image of the country during his recent US tour and alleged that contents of his book exposed him and the misdeeds of his regime since October 12, 1999.

Addressing Youm-i-Babul Islam Conference in the local office of Jamaat-i-Islami on Wednesday, he said that people were fed up with him and referred to recent country-wide power breakdown when he was away and people heaved a sigh of relief on rumours of a change of government.

Paying rich tribute to Mohammad Bin Qasim on his conquest of Sindh on 10th of Ramazan, 93 Hijra, Mr Bhutto said his services to the people of Sindh, as a result of which Islam spread rapidly in the province and other parts of the sub-continent.

He said that with their soft attitude, Mohammad Bin Qasim and his companions won the hearts and admiration of the people of Sindh who over the people of Sindh by giving full liberty of expression and religion and the Muslim army also provided them maximum protection against Raja Dahar’s tyranny.

He said that Mohammad Bin Qasim’s army never indulged in encroaching upon Sindh’s land or its wealth, and undertook social and economic reforms for the people of Sindh.

He deplored that the army rule had penetrated in the body politic of the country and the people and parliament had been made subservient to them.

He paid rich tribute to Mohammad Bin Qasim for making Sindh as gateway of Islam and observed that his achievements were a beacon light for all times to come.
