KARACHI, Oct 4: Sindh Minister for Environment Dr Sagheer Ahmed has taken strict notice of the growing environmental pollution in the metropolis.

Addressing a meeting of the officials of the department here on Wednesday, he exhorted the officers and staff to discharge their duties with devotion and commitment.

The minister asked them to undertake steps in collaboration with the City District Government Karachi for the elimination of pollution in the city.

The minister also warned that no dereliction of duty would be tolerated.

He said after Ramazan he would visit the offices located in the interior of Sindh.

Dr Sagheer also announced that in collaboration with the department concerned a campaign against smoke-emitting vehicles would be initiated after Ramazan.

He said industrial units would be asked to install treatment plant and carry out environment impact assessment.—APP
