Bid to smuggle heroin foiled

PESHAWAR, Sept 30: The customs authorities at Peshawar international airport foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin and arrested a smuggler, said a press release on Saturday.

The customs staff was alert after receiving information that a heroin smuggler was to board a flight to Bahrain. On suspicion, the staff opened cavities in the suitcase of a passenger and recovered 15.5kgs heroin.

The alleged smuggler, Ajmal Khan, resident of the Mashukhel area of Badhber, was arrested.
