‘US spy’ killed in Waziristan

MIRAMSHAH, Sept 28: An Afghan man was shot dead in the Mirali area of North Waziristan Agency on suspicion of spying for the US, officials said. Assistant Political Agent Fida Muhammad told Dawn on Thursday that the body of Malang Khan was found near Khadi village on the Mirali-Miramshah Road.

The deceased hailed from Afghanistan’s Khost province and was living in a refugee camp in Kohat.

A chit found on the body said: “Malang has been spying on the Taliban in the North and South Waziristan agencies for Americans. A satellite phone set has also been recovered from him.”

It said spies had sneaked into the area from Afghanistan and asked residents to monitor movement of such people.
